[i have missed you]

My new hideaway is a place called kennal vale forest, it is eerie and quiet, you can’t hear a thing, but the rush of the water from the waterfalls. There are hidden caverns, hollows and moss covered rock boulders, a lake filled with dead water where you would expect water spirits and creatures to hide, beneath the black surface. I have been going there quite a bit recently.
I have been a little worried about my sister, she wanted to leave here; home, to run away. She is so so sad sometimes and it makes my heart ache, I would go with her, to keep her safe. Today we took the bus into town and sat in a bookshop drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows, I hope she feels braver now [please].

Happiness is every minute that passes, every whisper... happiness is the morning sunlight that casts rainbow shadows upon your skin, ice on tree branches and leaves, robins and sparrows picking at the breadcrumbs, books... the smell of the pages, and being inside an old bookshop, thunderstorms and keeping quiet and safe under the duvet, goodnight stories and kisses, knowing that a tiny beating heart in the world loves and adores you, the moon and star guardians, walking through woodlands, waterfalls and tree spirits, writing in the sand, sitting on the edge of the cliff watching the ocean waves, watching films in the darkness, holding hands, music… always, falling asleep in your paints, being free spirited, and believing that the world is a good place, even though it sometimes isn’t.

You have been missed too and I hope your sister will be OK. *huggles*

On that first b/w tree photo, I am sure I can see a wee faery disguised as a tree root. The one bottom left, I am sure I can see wings.

Thank you love, I hope you are well and poppy too x
I think if you look close enough you can see little faces in the tree roots and moss.

You've certainly been missed as well. I absolutely love that drawing of the mouse in the slipper.

I do hope your sister finds comfort in your company. In my experience, having a younger sister who is desperately unhappy, her spirit does seem lifted after spending a few hours with someone who cares about her. Your list of things that are making you happy are worth reading over and over again.
xx

Thank you dear ♥ it's only a little sketch really, I can't seem to paint at all.
I think that is true, and I hope she does not mind me worrying about her so much.
xx.

I love this entry. The mouse sitting in the shoe is adorable, and what you've said about the world and happiness is perfect.

We have a lot of the same faery books ♥

Dear Natalee,
I've missed your entries so much, and you. They always make so happy.

"Happiness is every minute that passes, every whisper... happiness is the morning sunlight that casts rainbow shadows upon your skin, ice on tree branches and leaves, robins and sparrows picking at the breadcrumbs, books... the smell of the pages, and being inside an old bookshop, thunderstorms and keeping quiet and safe under the duvet, goodnight stories and kisses, knowing that a tiny beating heart in the world loves and adores you, the moon and star guardians, walking through woodlands, waterfalls and tree spirits, writing in the sand, sitting on the edge of the cliff watching the ocean waves, watching films in the darkness, holding hands, music… always, falling asleep in your paints, being free spirited, and believing that the world is a good place, even though it sometimes isn’t."-- Beautifully expressed.

Kennal Vale Forest is most certainly enchanted! What a beautiful hide-away you have found. It makes me miss the woods so much, the dead branches and leaves cracking beneath my feet, and the sound of water rippling over stones. Why do people steal from themselves by robbing the world of nature?

So magical. I wonder what rosy-cheeked woodland sprite left her apple-red slippers? She may be a friend of the feathery sky-spirit that left her wings to dry on a tree. That small table setting is so sweet and you have a very interesting book collection. The drawing of the mouse in the shoe is beautiful. It has such a cute face. I truly hope your sister feels better soon. You are a very good sister. <3

PS. Does that faerie rabbit belong to you? It is in so many of your pictures, I thought that it might.

I have missed you too, whenever I see trees and faerie hollows, I think of you in your little world.
Do you not go to the woods very often love? I think people are spoiling nature, it really upsets me. The first time I went, it was just after christmas and there were so many children with their parents, breaking branches, and destroying things.
Are there any fairy books that you do not have? I have some things to send you, but I wanted to find a book for you also.
She belongs to my friend Ellie, her name is Cloud. She lives in a hutch with her beloved, Blue [who growls quite a bit when you try and stroke his fur].
xx

Oh Natalee, thank you. <3
I am so sorry to hear about people destroying things and spoiling nature in your beautiful woods. That is very sad.

I do not go to the woods often. I live in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. The desert has a delicate beauty of its own, but I still miss the deep green, thick, and sheltering trees of the woods. The parts that are not citified are very pretty. The skies are beautiful. The clouds are large and hang low in the sky, because the sonoran desert is on a plateau. The light is strong, so rainbows and unusually colored skies are not uncommon.

There are a lot of interesting animals and plants that live here: the antelope jackrabbit, the desert cottontail, kagaroo rats, elf owls, inca doves with haunting cries, the juniper titmouse, all sorts of beautiful birds, beautiful butterflies, velvet mesquite, delicate palo verde trees, Arizona fairy dusters, and all sorts of wild flowers.

There are forests in Arizona:
Greer Arizona and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, Flagstaff and the Coconino National Forest, Prescott National Forest. There are also some beautiful and woodsy areas around the Grand Canyon. Arizona has more biodiversity than anywhere in the United States, which is kind of amazing considering its size.

However, the closest forest is two to three hours away from where I live. So, I do not go very often. Sometimes, in the summer I go to Oregon, which has beautiful forests and beaches that go on forever, but it takes several days to get there.

PS. Thank you. Yes, there are many that I do not have. I would love so much a book! That would be lovely. I will send you something too. <3

Cloud is a beautiful name for her.
